People who say modern Formula 1 is boring need to watch the 24 Hours of Le Mans 12 hours in. Now THAT is boring (not that it's a bad thing).
Edit: As I say this, the #1 Audi has problems. Perfect timing!

Le Mans, and endurance racing in general, is impressive to me because they managed to make a motorsport out of gas mileage and reliability.

That's what I like about it, but all the Formula 1 "purists" who insist the that new regulations have made it "boring" are wrong. Formula 1 is 1.5 hours with almost constant battles/passing. I want to see them watch Le Mans at night, where there is about one battle every 1-2 hours.

I saw the Ferrari flashing his lights, then I left for a minute. When I came back, the Corvette was in the pits.

the battles continue, the world feed TV production just gets weak at night. Even the Tv and radio folks are bitching about it.

let fix that for you: 'people who say modern f1 is boring need to actually watch f1.' I don't agree with all the changes but it's already a better season than the past years. Hell, Canada was pretty epic! More mechanical failures, the cars are dancing around, overtaking where you normally don't. I'll happily trade some noise for that!
